  • Safeguarding

At All Hallows C of E Primary School, the safeguarding and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility, and we are fully committed to providing a secure, caring environment where all children feel happy, valued, and protected.

We have robust safeguarding systems and procedures in place to ensure that every child is well-supported. Our staff are trained to recognise and respond to any concerns, and we work closely with families and external agencies where appropriate.

    Our Safeguarding Team

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are responsible for child protection and safeguarding across the school:

    • Emma McGrenaghan – DSL & Overall Responsibility for Safeguarding
    • India Linley – Lead DSL
    • Claire Grainge – Deputy DSL

Named persons for Children in Care:

    • Kelly Hally

    Named Safeguarding Governor:

    • Sarah Lee

If you have any concerns about a child’s welfare, you can speak to any member of our safeguarding team in confidence. We encourage both staff and parents to share concerns so that we can provide support at the earliest opportunity.

    Operation Encompass

We are part of Operation Encompass, a national initiative that supports children who may have been exposed to domestic abuse. Through this partnership, we are notified by the police when a child in our school has been involved in or affected by a domestic incident. This allows us to provide timely and sensitive support for the child when they come into school, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and cared for.

    Online Safety

Keeping children safe online is an important part of safeguarding. We teach children how to use technology safely and responsibly through our curriculum and regular reminders about online behaviour.

We also work in partnership with parents to promote safe use of devices at home. Our systems in school include filtering and monitoring to help protect children when using the internet. We encourage children to speak to a trusted adult if they see or experience anything online that worries them.

    Safe Recruitment and Training

All staff and governors undergo appropriate safeguarding checks, including DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, which are recorded on our Single Central Register. Staff receive regular safeguarding training to ensure they remain up to date with current guidance and best practice.

    Our Policies

Our safeguarding policy is updated regularly in line with national and local authority guidance and is reviewed annually by governors. This ensures that our procedures continue to reflect the highest standards of care and protection for our pupils.

At All Hallows, our Christian values underpin our commitment to safeguarding. We strive to create a nurturing community where every child feels safe, respected, and able to flourish.

What to Do if You Are Worried About a Child

At All Hallows, we all share a responsibility to keep children safe. If you are ever worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, it is important to act.

If your concern relates to a child at our school, please contact one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) as soon as possible. All concerns will be treated sensitively, respectfully, and in confidence. Sharing a concern can help us provide support at the earliest opportunity.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, you should contact the police on 999.

You can also report concerns or seek advice directly from Nottinghamshire Children’s Services:
